NYC Well: Free, confidential crisis counseling, mental health and substance misuse support, information and referral. You can reach the toll-free helpline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone, text and online chat. Text "WELL" to 651-73 or visiting their website. They can provide bilingual help in Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Additionally, NYC Well offers translation services in more than 200 languages. Health insurance is not required. Depending on your phone/text services, you may be charged a fee.

NYS Office of Mental Health:
In an emergency, call 911, visit a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), to go to the emergency room at your local hospital. New York State has partnered with Crisis Text Line, an anonymous texting service available 24/7. Text GOT5 to 741741.

Open Path Collective:
Open Path is a nonprofit that serves clients who lack health insurance or whose health insurance doesn’t provide adequate mental health benefits. Open Path Collective therapists provide affordable, in-office psychotherapy between $30-$60 per session (between $30 and $80 for couples and family sessions).

Training Institute for Mental Health (TI):
For more than 50 years, the Training Institute for Mental Health (TI) has provided affordable, high-quality therapy services in New York City. TI's counseling program has helped thousands of people over the years overcome issues such as low self-esteem, anger management, career difficulties, relationship conflicts, depression and anxiety. In-network with: Aetna. NYC Affirmative Psychotherapy:
NYC Affirmative Psychotherapy is a community focused sustainable sliding scale mental health practice in Manhattan providing treatment to individual adults ages 18+.  Their mission is simple: provide affirmative psychotherapy in a sustainable way to the community. By affirmative they mean that we do not view individuals from the perspective of being defective or needing to be fixed. In-network with: Aetna and CHP. Affirmative Psychotherapy NYC’s full fee is $150 cash (a few dollars more if using credit or debit). They offer $55, $75, or $105 sliding scale options. Please call 347-625-5020.

National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP):
The Treatment Center of NIP is the clinical training component for candidates enrolled in NIP’s various training programs. All clinicians are graduate or postgraduate students working under the supervision of experienced licensed psychotherapists. NIP’s Treatment Center offers individual psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and EMDR services at a reduced fee based on income. In-network with: Aetna, HealthFirst, ValueOptions commercial plans (GHI, HIP, Emblem, NY State Empire Plan (Not Blue Cross/Blue Shield), MVP). The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP):
Therapists at ICP have decided to go to ICP for additional training above and beyond their professional degree. National Eating Disorder Association Hotline:
