6 Steps to Manifesting

The act of manifesting is to bring to fruition that which we consciously (and unconsciously) focus our attention on. By shifting your attention of what you think, speak, and focus on, you’ll begin to tap into this universal law. By creating a shift in mindset, you’ll become more purposeful.

For some, the power of manifestation can feel out of reach at times, but this universal law is available to everyone. Once you’re able to experience it and reap the benefits of manifestation, it’ll become part of your everyday life.

  1. Be purposeful and specific about what you’re attracting

The word “attract” means “to draw”. You are a magnetic field of mental influence. What you constantly think about, and dwell upon in your thoughts, words and actions, you automatically pull, draw, and attract to you.

Most people have difficulty honing in on exactly what they’re looking for or wanting out of life. It’s easier to know what you don’t want due to past experiences. However, when describing and asking for the Universe to deliver, being direct and specific as to what you do want is vital.

For example, rather than willing the thought of “I want a new job where I don’t deal with frustrating people”. Instead focus on what you would like those new people to be like— “I want a new job where the people are friendly and considerate.”

  2. Clear out negativity and be intentional about your everyday thoughts

You attract into your mind, body, and affairs that which you secretly harbor: that which you love, and that which you fear, resent, criticize or hate. Many don’t realize that hate is just as strong of an emotion and attractor as love. In fact, hate is one of the strongest forms of attraction. A part of being focused to what you’re attracting, is tuning into the emotions and thoughts that present themselves throughout the day.

A great way of practicing this day to day is using breathing exercises. By focusing on the breath, it allows you to not empower the negative feeling or thought. Meditation is another great way to manage impulsive thoughts, as well as using affirmations for specific instances.

For example, when anxiety or fear start to creep in, repeat out loud “I am safe. I am calm. I accept peace as part of my identity.” An uplifted mind is a magnet for all good of the universe to quickly provide to you. A depressed, resentful, critical state of mind is a magnet for attracting trouble.

  3. Show up as though you already have that which you’re asking for

You do not attract what you consciously want so much as what you subconsciously are, according to your dominant thoughts and feelings. Stop picturing yourself as misunderstood or weak. Stop dramatizing your problems or those of the world. Instead, begin picturing the best for yourself and others.

Visualization is a powerful tool and component for manifesting that which you’re asking for. Our brains do not know the difference between physical reality and a thought. This is what happens when someone has anxiety. The presumed fear feels so real that the person experiences the same symptoms of a fight or flight/life or death situation. You attract the things to which you give a great deal of thought and feeling.

Remember what we mentioned earlier about being specific, use that specificity when visualizing your future self. Close your eyes and emotionally connect with receiving that which you’re asking for. How does it feel to have it in your life? What’s different and more enhanced because you’ve obtained it? What is required of you now that you have it?

Repeat this practice of visualization daily, add more detail and emotion as you see fit. Carry yourself and act as though you’ve already obtained your favor.

  4. Put action to desire

When you’re clear on what you want and you visualize who you’ll become, the steps reveal themselves to you. Feeling stuck about what to do next is a result of no clarity. As clarity makes its way to you, so will the path to get there.

Most people believe that manifestation just requires the belief in the thought and that’s it. Behaving as though you’ve already obtained that which you’re asking for means you’re also working and developing a plan to obtain what you’re asking for.

You invoke the Law of Attraction by studying that which you want, picturing successful possession of it, developing a master plan for it, and keeping quiet about what you’re doing. Work out your master plan for success and quietly dwell upon it. Successful results will come.

  5. Read (out loud) your affirmations daily

This step is crucial and cannot be skipped. What this step does is prime your mind and subconscious to commit and believe in what’s to come. It also serves as a reminder to what you’re striving for.

It’s normal and ok to feel doubt while reading this. The mind always resists what it does not yet understand (it serves as a means of protection). Instead of wondering whether this will work or not and emboldening the fear and doubt, commit to practicing. During manifestation you will experience doubt, frustration, and confusion. This is a part of the process, and is also why daily meditation is so important.

Like we spoke about earlier, we are in the habit of telling our mind what we do not want, so it takes a lot of commitment to shift into the habit of telling our minds what we do want. This is where affirmations and visualization help establish this habit. Practice being specific and immersed in what you’re saying, repeat it until it feels authentic and true.

  6. Practice gratitude

You play an active role in the way your life unfolds before you. Many people don’t recognize their power and the control they have, so they believe things happen to them, rather than for them.

Manifesting will reveal things to you throughout the day. As you see them, have gratitude. They might not seem life-changing when isolated. However, the acknowledgment and awareness of those instances showing up consistently makes them life changing.

Write down that you’re grateful for the gift to see these things or say thank you out loud. Gratitude has a frequency that attracts more of the same. In the process, your mind will be focused on more of what you want to see and less of what you do not want to experience.
